As a* Construction Project Manager,* you will be responsible for the oversight and management of capital projects from project scoping and schematic design through project completion and occupancy. This role works on both new build projects and the renovation of existing spaces and infrastructure.

*What you’ll do *

  • Manage and provide oversight for all phases of construction project design and development including for repair, remodel, renovation and new capital construction projects
  • Lead the Request For Proposal process, including the review and recommend selection, while coordinating hiring activities for applicable professionals (architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, etc.) when required
  • May manage employees and/or contingent workers
  • Integrate business needs into construction project and coordinate construction activities to reduce the impact of construction projects on company and campus operations
  • Ensure jurisdictional processes are addressed and followed throughout project lifecycle while monitoring the project status to identify and mitigate risks
  • Work collaboratively and build relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, business partners, and Premera leadership to scope, plan and prioritize capital projects to ensure goals are achieved
  • Coordinate communication among design consultants, vendors, and project managers
  • Review plans and specifications and provide critical evaluation of appropriateness of design solutions to assure construction design fulfill needs and are in compliance with codes and organizational standards
  • Maintain a clearly documented project master plan for campus renovation according to condition assessments and work closely with project managers to ensure it can be followed internally throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain construction budgets; review cost estimates, coordinate issues with the finance and recommend action to keep projects within budget

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field, or 4 years’ applicable experience
  • 7 years’ experience managing capital construction improvement projects
  • A current and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a vehicle background check, conducted by Human Resources
  • Knowledge of architectural design, HVAC, electrical and structural engineering concepts
  • Experience with construction drawings and schematics
  • Experience with construction builds and project management in office builds
  • Knowledge of building construction materials, methods, practices, building code requirements, and various government regulatory policies, rules and regulations required
  • Success working effectively and positively with individuals of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as CAD drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing multiple facets of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working independently and across multiple teams with strong attention to detail and follow-through and strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to prepare and track overall project budgets, cost, and schedules
