As a Director of Operations , you will oversee the strategic planning and implementation of corporate and department initiatives to ensure achieve enterprise goals for customer experience and cost. You will work collaboratively with staff throughout Premera to identify, design and implement strategic initiatives for the Operations team. In this role, you will provide strategic direction to managers to ensure expected service levels are consistently met through high engagement of all employees. You will monitor and support individual performance improvement and development of your team.

This position will oversee Operations, that could include any of the following functional areas: Product Implementation; Facets Configurations; Billing Reconciliation; Audit Oversight; Claims; Customer Service; Production of Enrollment & Billing; and Operations Project Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Link Operations plans, projects and activities to support and accomplish Premera's strategic goals. Identify and allocate available resources to accomplish client service and operations goals.

  • Anticipate the impact of the changing business environment on assigned work areas and adjust work assignments and processes as necessary. Develop and manage multi-million dollar budgets and change strategies that significantly impact the company's goals.

  • Lead a team of associates that can be located in one or more of Premera's facility locations as well as telecommuting staff.

  • Interview, hire, and provide direction to staff. Provide coaching and mentoring, professional development opportunities to direct employees through work assignments, special projects, further education and performance feedback.

  • Anticipate risks and initiate mitigation strategies. Make solid business decisions based on insights from data that align with our company purpose, strategies, and values.

  • Partner with managers to ensure performance standards and policies are consistently applied throughout the organization.

  • Recommend budget requirements for assigned market segments and projects using forecasting and planning tools. Manage within approved budgets. Identify and implement long range strategies for managing and reducing operations costs where practical.

  • Lead a large organization with the highest ethical standards of trustworthiness, transparency, and conduct.

  • Demonstrate social responsibility leadership and promotes community service awareness for all associates.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area or four (4) years’ work experience

  • Five (5) years’ experience in a high volume, automated operations environment

  • Five (5) years successful management experience, preferably in health insurance operations.
