As a LINUX Systems Engineer, you will prepare complex engineering designs for our Corporate Data & Analytics team. You will be part of a highly innovative team with a big mission. The evaluation, design, build, and documentation of solutions are at the core of your responsibilities, focusing on operating systems, hardware platforms, and capacity management. You will be responsible for executing the deployment of enterprise class designs and preparing the expected lifecycle forecast, and relevant documentation. You’ll also develop strong peer relationships with other IT staff; working together to ensure system integration points are addressed and can enable continuity of service. You will be a key player on the team that delivers HIPAA compliant (secure), data-driven solutions to improve health care by enabling members and providers with flexible, accessible tools to provide transparency in health care decisions and increase patient safety.

What you’ll do:

  • Evaluate, design, build, and document client server hardware/software solutions and establish standards for an operating environment with a security focus

  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization

  • Provide:

  • Technical direction/mentor and ensure technical designs and deployments adhere to standards

  • Support to lesser experienced engineers & system administrators 24/7 for escalated issues according to established service level agreements

  • Lead:

  • Engineering by participating in the work intake process

  • In incident, problem, configuration and change in solving complex systems integrations

  • Collaborate with Security Auditor to harden operating environment

MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO PROVIDE AFTER-HOURS AND WEEKEND SUPPORT WHERE NECESSARY, IN A 24/7 SYSTEM AVAILABILITY MODEL

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or four (4) years’ experience

  • Five(5)+ years’ experience in Information Technology

  • One or more of the following certifications: MCSE, MCP, MCSA, MCDBA are preferred

  • Experience

  • Working with Security Auditor

  • With Windows AND Linux OS

  • With any or all of the following: Windows Cluster Server, Windows Network Load Balancing, Windows Active Directory architecture and administration, IIS, IBM WebSphere, VMware, EMC Symmetrix/Clariion, Cisco LAN/WAN hardware and IOS

  • Working knowledge of OLE MAPI, ODBC/SQL, ISO OSI models, Windows Authentication, and scripting

  • Ability to:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Utilize and implement leading-edge technology to deliver business value

  • Articulate and translate technical language to non-technical audiences, and influence at all levels across the company within span of control
