As a Sales Manager for Connexion , you will manage a sales team responsible for new sales, renewal and service activities of small employer-group accounts, including expansion of client partnerships by selling additional lines of coverage and increasing available products to new segments of employer groups.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead sales team to sell new business and products, educate accounts, and develop strategic working relationships with producers to facilitate achievement of sales and retention goals.

  • Develop and manage sales team goals to ensure achievement of company revenue, membership and contribution margin objectives.

  • Develop, implement, and continually assess the sales management process to ensure effectiveness for accounts. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of market/region development needs and sales strategies.

  • Partner with sales teams to assess profitability analyses and to ensure synergy of marketing and retention opportunities.

  • Develop growth and retention plans to include in-group growth opportunities through additional product offering and product packaging, and devise tracking mechanisms to report progress of achieving plan objectives.

  • Represent the company as a community leader through various organizations and activities.

  • Develop knowledge and insight related to current operating processes and efficiencies while developing strong working relationship with leadership team.

  • Using data analytics, gain proficiency in sales metrics and measurements, develop performance measurement tools, including status meetings and quarterly performance reviews and feedback sessions, apply knowledge toward performance management, coaching and market development.

  • Serve as liaison to other company internal and external teams to ensure smooth coordination of how initiatives will be rolled out to employer groups and members.

  • Develop and manage ongoing training plan for team to include continuous focus on executive presentation skills, product knowledge (both company-specific and industry normative knowledge), and account relationship capabilities.

  • Manage annual budget related to sales team compensation, and relevant G&A.

  • Participate in Premera leadership courses and development and continuing education in business and leadership.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years work experience

  • 5 -10 years relevant work experience - sales and/or healthcare experience strongly preferred

  • Direct customer relationship management experience

  • Previous experience managing relationships with external producers.

  • Previous sales management experience.

  • A current agent’s license for state of Washington and ability to achieve license requirements within 60 days of employment

  • Strong working knowledge of health insurance products, services and sales channels.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills including good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to recruit, develop and lead a team.

  • Ability to persuade and influence others during sales process.

  • Good problem solving ability and ability to manage multiple, competing demands.
