As a* Senior IT Internal Consultant - Corporate Data & Analytics* team, you will work on a small development team with a big mission to Make Healthcare Work Better for our Customers. As a member of our team you will be at the epicenter of revolutionary company and industry change. You will be part of the team building solutions that empower our customers to engage the healthcare system on their own terms. To realize the level of customer empowerment envisioned, the team is building state-of-the-art data services frameworks that enable real-time interoperability within Premera as well as with external healthcare partners and provider organizations.

The team you would join is a diverse group of people with expertise that is both broad and deep across the technical and healthcare landscapes. This team applies the methods and general approach established by Disciplined Agile Delivery, its motto is “Delivery is our Currency”.

In this role, you will act as a liaison between the customer and technical organizations by planning, conducting and directing analysis of moderately complex to highly complex business problems to be solved with technical solutions. You will proactively inform and educate business partners of technology opportunities and risks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of supported customer units. You will need to understand, communicate and advocate for customer goals and strategies to the organization. You will also handle complex analysis efforts to validate fully or partially defined requirements and support the development of detailed specifications. You will draw on your experience to influence the strategic decisions around business solutions. You will also provide technical leadership to a wide variety of teams, customers, executives and other stakeholders.

*What you’ll do *

  • Engage customer community and managers at all levels to identify and understand key business issues and objectives, evaluate changes for organizational impacts and recommend an action plan
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams in designing business/technology solutions
  • Develop clear and concise documentation of customer objectives, requirements and detailed specifications on moderate to complex projects or operational issues
  • Lead and perform complex problem and workflow analysis, drawing conclusions and recommending resolution opportunities
  • Identify emerging trends in Data & Analytic solutions in order to better align technical solutions with customer needs and ensuring the delivered solution meets customer requirements
  • Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of Data & Analytics technology strategic and development efforts, and includes defining customer and Data & Analytics initiatives, developing business case and producing high level estimates for initiatives
  • Follow industry standard methodologies and guidelines to manage and execute project activities
  • Research, inform and recommend opportunities to apply business and technology solutions
  • Develop and maintain a strong strategic relationship with executive and senior business leaders serving as a liaison between the business stakeholders and the organization
  • Develop and present material to positively influence stakeholders towards achieving the effective outcomes
  • Provide mentorship and direction to less experienced team members

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or four (4) years’ experience; Computer Science is preferred
  • Eight (8) + years’ experience in Information Technology, which includes three (3) years’ experience influencing decisions on technology and process
  • 10+ years in IT environment preferably healthcare related industry is desirable
  • Experience in documenting functional/technical specifications
  • Project Management certification is a plus
  • Experience in communicating with and influencing all levels of customers, managers and executives
  • Proven history of taking accountability for own work and delivering results
  • Expert knowledge of analytical tools, relational databases and PC applications
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, processes, configuration tools and methodologies
  • Experience in negotiation across organizational boundaries and with outside vendors
  • Team player with the ability to lead by example
  • Customer-focused, with the ability to be flexible with changing priorities, demands and requests
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to proactively prevent problems from occurring and work issues to resolution
  • Initiative and willingness to take calculated risks, and shares opinions in order to reach optimal results
  • Passion for creativity and finding new business solutions
