As a Senior IT Auditor for our Internal Audit team, you will have a unique opportunity to help define the culture of our IT audit function. You will partner with the business and IT by serving as the face of the IT audit function during an exciting, transformative time at Premera. This is a great role for the inherently inquisitive and curious person who wants to understand and help the business remedy or build solutions and who will also work diligently to find a resolution to identified challenges. You will have direct exposure and interaction with the Vice President of Internal Audit, who not only has a strong background in this space, but will be able to provide solid leadership and mentoring. The team has a collaborative approach and your work will benefit both Internal Audit and our IT division. At the highest level, you will help ensure we are good stewards of technology that we achieve our objectives around making healthcare work better.
This position may be based in our Mountlake Terrace or Spokane offices (occasional travel to Mountlake Terrace from Spokane may be required)
What you’ll do
Lead Premera’s IT audit function by:o Executing the IT component of the annual Internal Audit Risk Assessmento Performing audits, assessments, consulting engagements and internal controls evaluations to identify risks, evaluate processes and controls, and follow-up on findings requiring corrective actionso Preparing reports on engagement results for management and partnering with management in designing practical, effective processes and controlso Providing proactive guidance to management in designing and revising internal controls for new and existing products and systemso Developing and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of management and employeeso Performing special projects, which may include participating in transformation program activities, assisting in regulatory audits related to information services, conducting training on audits and controls, and investigating potential employee fraud
Communicate persuasive, easily understood audit results in the appropriate context
Serve as a technology risk and controls consultant to senior IT management and executive management
Direct the activities of IT Auditors and assistants
Develop and implement IT audit standards, methods, tools, procedures and processes to be used in the department
Identify and attend necessary training to maintain and increase IT knowledge and auditing skills
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, computer science, or business
Four (4) years of information system audit experience in a complex environment
Ideal candidates will also be:
o Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)o Two (2) years of experience with a Big 4 consulting firm
The following experience is preferred:
o Sarbanes-Oxley or Model Audit Rule internal controls programo SOC testing, IT and security control frameworks (COBIT or ISO27001)o Cloud computing, data analytics, robotic process automation, ERP system governance, risk, and control methodologieso Privacy programso Health care and insurance industry
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style
Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including previous experience in writing internal audit reports
Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one
Ability to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviors
Understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business
Strong skills in project management
