As Sr. Manager of Data Governance , you will utilize your expertise in both data governance and people management to effectively manage the Data Governance Office and drive organizational change.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the organization and the Data Governance Office team in the development, optimization and maturation of Premera’s data governance program

  • Drive continual improvement in data management practices through collaboration and partnership with domain owners, domain stewards, and key data stakeholders, ensuring direction aligns with strategic priorities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain an enterprise wide data management framework that instills data accountability

  • Provide consultation and guidance to leaders to ensure an understanding of data governance and management concepts, roles, and responsibilities

  • Facilitate and support Data Governance Committee and Data Governance Board meetings

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in data management, business, or healthcare

  • Eight (8) years of experience leading data management/governance initiatives and programs

  • Including three (3) years of people management

  • In depth understanding of data management/governance principles and practices

  • Proven ability to influence and lead data management practices at all levels of the organization

  • Experienced change agent with an understanding of change management processes and knowledge of how to best influence large scale change

  • Independent decision-making skills and the ability to recommend viable solutions to issues

  • Able to perform root cause analysis and make recommendations for the remediation of data governance and quality issues
