As the Vice President of Provider Strategy , you will lead the development of new capabilities, new business opportunities and new models to serve the changing provider landscape. In this highly visible and strategic role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact how we work with our providers – applying your healthcare expertise to develop innovative provider solutions, leading the way to reducing trend, ensuring quality and meeting business objectives. Vice Presidents are responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight and are key contributors to the company's financial, operational, and strategic business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Develop innovative provider solutions and identify strategies to introduce opportunities for providers to participate in risk based arrangements

  • Identify strategic partners to fill a market need, such as access to behavioral health or primary care

  • Partner with Sales and Product Development teams to develop competitive solutions that meet customers’ needs and steer customers toward engaged providers and force the market to evolve

  • Maintain knowledge of value based agreements and collaborative approaches to provider partnerships that deliver on cost, quality, risk and customer experience

  • Maintain knowledge of business drivers in the marketplace and strategy development, and align with the national & large group sales leadership team to develop and recommend programs and products to improve cost trend and quality of healthcare received

  • Oversee all commercial and government employer group activities for HCS including employer group reporting (mid-market and large self-funded clients), RFI and RFP responses , and communication regarding our programs

  • Oversee reporting for all commercial and government Provider Collaboration and value based agreements for timeliness and accuracy

  • Lead RFP strategy, ensuring timely and appropriate response

  • Partner with the sales team to ensure they are educated and knowledgeable on the available healthcare programs, products and services

  • Ensure the provider network team is educated on the available healthcare programs and how each one might help their assigned providers

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across the company

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field or four (4) years’ work experience – Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MPH preferred

  • Ten (10) years' senior management level experience with responsibility for provider contracting with a large health plan or managed health care system

  • Experience with Sales, Marketing, and Communications functions

  • Experience with medical policy, guidelines or clinical criteria development and implementation

  • Knowledge of informatics, data management and information systems

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including proficiency in leading groups of physicians

  • Well-developed planning and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with regulatory and accrediting compliance of a health plan
