As a Software Development Engineer II on the DataHub team, you will work in an agile team environment to focus on improving automation, scalability, service quality, data collection, and system health visibility into production environments running on a hybrid cloud. In this position on the DataHub team, you will support software development teams to deliver code faster and more efficiently. You’ll use your DevOps experience to provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems and act as an internal resource for your specific Capability Product Group. Your work will continue to impact and modernize Premera’s IT footprint using the cloud and containers.

DataHub is a key component of Premera’s Data platform that enables access and sharing of information between our business applications and partners. DataHub moves away from point-to-point integration to a publish-and-subscribe mechanism. The datahub ensures high quality, secure, low latency data integration between applications and services.

What you’ll do:

  • Build, run, and optimize critical services in a complex heterogeneous hybrid cloud environment

  • Learn and enhance existing tools, develop new tools at scale that reduce manual intervention, enhance prevention, detection, and mitigation of service impacts

  • Provide design and technical consulting expertise for small to medium sized projects

  • Work closely with the security team to ensure the safety and security of deployment processes

  • Influence and collaborate across engineering to bring best practices, system architectures, standards, and methods for a complex heterogeneous environment

  • Remain current on new technologies, methods and procedures including, but not limited to, coding practices such as Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment

  • Participate in 'on-call' rotation duties

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent experience (Required)

  • 1+ years of software development experience and skills to utilize one or more programming languages (Required)

  • 3-5 years of software development experience preferred.

  • Application development experience utilizing Python, Databricks, Kafka, SQL, Azure cloud technologies, CI/CD, No-SQL Mongo-Atlas

  • Experience with cloud solutions

  • Customer-focused with demonstrated experience in effective root cause analysis and problems resolution for High Availability (HA) systems

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

National Salary Range:

$70,100.00 - $119,200.00

National Plus Salary Range:

$79,900.00 - $135,800.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
